Cancer is one of the most important causes of mortality worldwide, hence the World Health Organization, WHO along with the International Union for Fighting Cancer organize a campaign to promote the efforts seeking to save millions of lives and to increase awareness around February fourth which is World Cancer Day.

AFNCI took over the mission of promoting quality healthcare and reducing the incidence of cancer in Egypt, through offering a number of initiatives and projects that contribute to developing healthcare and eliminating diseases causes.

The Association embarked on a long term intensive campaign for cancer awareness and prevention through promoting benefits of early detection, maintaining healthy nutrition habits and preserving environment against pollution. These awareness campaigns are reaching out to the different governorates, using out animation adds in the TV. and handing out booklets and CD’s.

In cooperation with state organizations, AFNCI shares in developing the infrastructure in the neediest villages by extending sanitary sewage networks and establishing sewage water treatment stations aiming to eliminate pollution. This is in addition to its initial mission of supporting cancer patients in the National Cancer Institute, NCI by providing chemotherapy, and establishing the new out-patient clinics and equipping them to host up to 1600 patients daily.

The Association exerts efforts in spreading out clinical pharmacy principles where it established the first clinical pharmacy in the NCI in the  early nineties, followed by establishing clinical pharmacies in Ismailia Tumor Hospital and Ahmed Maher Hospital.

Moreover,  it is involved in supporting education and training programs for healthcare specialists by sponsoring fellowship certificates, aiming to prepare qualified cadres to contribute to improving healthcare and raising cure rates in Egypt.

Throughout twenty years of giving by faithful donors, AFNCI is exerting utmost efforts to eliminate cancer causes and raise awareness about it. With the support of charity people we will pursue our mission to provide quality free healthcare and maximize patient outcomes.
